[Solved] SYNC system no longer reading text messages

I connected my phone via bluetooth to my car and it successfully read text messages to me. However, this has recently stopped and i can't figure out how to fix this. I tried to search the forums as well as google and no results fit what i was looking for. Anyone familiar with this issue, and how did you resolve?

I have the HTC Titan. Its a window's phone. I believe any windows 7 phone is capable of doing this. I believe it has something to do with Microsoft and the SYNC system.

It would initially tell you that "X person" sent a text message and it would ask if you wanted to hear it. Once completed it would ask if you wanted to respond. Which you could speak into the voice recognition software. It was similar to Dragon Dictation on the Andriod Units.

Sorry dude I would love to help, but I never had this problem because...

...Who would want the car reading incoming texts and announcing who they are from out loud?!?!?

That's the LAST thing I need!! That is a modern technological way of getting BUSTED!!! The fact that it doesn't work may be the little angel sitting on your shoulder trying to save you! LOL!

Take a look at the manual. They refer to it as sync. If im not mistaken I thought it was developed by Microsoft and not an exclusive system to ford.

Yes I have the navigation system.

I feel like this is a nice safety feature. Instead of potentially looking at your phone and reading the text... The car reads it to you.

Maybe you should try and do a little research before you open your mouth and try to call someone out. Nice try! better luck tomorrow.

Anyways thanks for the help?

Oh by the way. I resolved the issue. Your phone will read it to you if it's not on vibrate. I'll post a video of my findings. Unlike fairlady I'll chose to contribute to this community instead of trying to earn cool points with the rest of the forum

Lol so what Ill make a sarcastic remark here or there. I actually do contribute a great deal here. There's an obvious connection between SYNC being specifically tied to the ford systems that it comes standard on and advertised as. No where inside my car do I see "SYNC by Microsoft", that's why I made that statement. Sorry If I offended you, glad you figured out how to use your vehicle.

That looks to be a function of the cell phone [provider]. It calls you, then reads out loud the text.

I just paired via Bluetooth the Nokia Lumia 800 (Windows 7.5 OS) on AT&T network on my 2007 G35X navigation package and it worked. LOL
