Video Input on 2012 G37 for Carputer

Hey guys,

I currently have a 2005 G35 6MT Sedan that I setup with a Carputer. My car was hit last week and there is a good chance it will be totaled . I am trying to plan out what I can do if it is.

I have read through the forums and noticed how some have installed a Carputer using the stock screen in an 08' G37. But with the change to GVIF and the USB port, this changed things.

My question is, this is now impossible to do?? I have not come across a GVIF to DVI or Composite video adapter. PAC is only making FM adapters for audio.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

for video input you can do a PAC VCI-X universal interface. Interupt it between the screen, its very tricky to do, wouldn't recommend doing it yourself, bring it to a shop. As for Audio, wired FM mod would be the only thing. But I am speaking from having a 2012 G37XS with full nav/tech package, it may be different without nav

Check out this thread. It is a GVIF to Composite adapter. Near the end of the thread explains how to install it. I have it and it works great.

It also does RGB input.

Thanks for the suggestion. How about touchscreen support. Is there a controller product / DIY that will allow me to use the touchscreen functionality?
