Nav update question

I have an '09 and I was wondering if you all knew of a way to update the nav version without having to go through the dealership.

I just had this done recently and pretty painless, but pricey lol

It's normally $250. I received an e-mail last April offering it for $200 as part of a promotional event if it's ordered before June 30th. I haven't done it yet but will probably do so soon. The dealer told me when I purchased the car that the cost of software upgrade is the most often cited reason for folks declining to purchase the navigation system. You can buy a really nice Garmin unit for less than $250 that has free upgrades for as long as you own it.

Lets not get into another argument of Navi versus no navi. Factor of the matter is:

2007-2009 Must go to dealership for update. You have to pay labor fee on top of Map fee. Call around to get the best price.

2010+ Just buy the DVD and upgrade it yourself.
