Replacing OEM Non-Nav w/ OEM Nav
#16
C'mon there has to be someone on here that works at a dealership and can find out what's needed and part numbers? I'm not asking for a walk through, but at least a parts list and if the car ecu has to be reflashed. Also, is all g37 prewired for Nav so we just need to install the GPS antennae, microphone and GPS drive n screen?
Any info would be appreciated. I don't mind spending $400 for a Nav drive, center console controlls and screen from eBay to get this started.

I have talked to modme about this. I am pretty serious about doing this hopefully in the next few months. It won't be as cheap as you think, but once complete you can't beat oem look. Mitch you need a factory head unit(nav) from the same yr or same build. For ex/ I have 2011 so I can only use 2010 and up head units for this project. Since my car is newer there are less nav units available overall hence more money for me The main problem is the harness. You have to get the dash-wire harness from a nav car. You cannot use the one you have in the non-nav car. So your whole wire-harness in the dash area will have to be taken out and you have to hook up the nav-one You will need an antenna (easily bought online) and the nav button overlay to replace your nonnav one. I am not good w/ all these mods like modme is. My thoughts were to buy all the parts and take it to a reputable audio shop who will take on this project. It would probably be good to discuss this w/ a shop prior to purchasing all of this just in case. On a side note, the prodigy one is a good unit and I am still considering it. Another new one is the garmin-unit. It is made by nav-tv. They recently had an auction w/ the unit for very cheap. See here: Infiniti G35 G37 Navigation System Upgrade Limited Time Only | eBay
It is also a good alternative and cheaper than prodigy one. It is the garmin nv-54. Modme is a busy man otherwise I would enlist him swiftly!

If I were to purchase a complete factory navigation system, can anyone point me in the right direction on who could wire it up for me into a non nav g37 in the tristate area. Not much electrical experience so this job is definitely out of my reach.

I know it's been a few years since the original posts but did anyone from this thread ever get it done? I just got my 2012 g37x coupe and it is lacking the nav and Bluetooth streaming options that I would really like to have. Just curious to see if you were able to find the necessary parts on eBay and what everything ended up costing you including installation. Any feedback would be great!
