I'm presuming you mean an afermarket backup cam since an OEM one is not available without the package?

It depends on if it's important to you. I find it extremely useful and helpful personally. Some people have it and don't even really use it.

I had it on my 08TL and I found it a safety feature.

Yes aftermarket would be the way I would go

I had driven mostly trucks before buying my G. I would have a lot more difficulty backing that thing up and navigating the rear altogether without the backup camera. It's saved my rear end more than once.

It's up to you, but I love the backup cam. And my car is non-nav and non-premium packages so you can definitely get it OEM without nav. My phone has google maps, so navigation is in my pocket if necessary.

I love having the backup cam. Its really useful getting when getting into tight spaces and parallel parking for me. Also saves me a couple trips of reversing out of places since I know how close I can get.

My car didn't come with a backup camera, so I installed a BOYO into my license plate and had it go to my AUX input. However, I didn't like it too much because there was no point of reference since the license plate is underneath the bumper.

What I ended up doing was putting another camera I got from eBay into the stock location. I bought a trim piece with the camera hole from a member on here, wrapped in it carbon fiber vinyl, and mounted the camera inside of it with some industrial velcro and silicone. Now I have a point of reference, but don't use it often since I've gotten so used to driving without it

Backup cam is one of the best features and has been a requirement of mine since I first had one in '06. I believe it became a standard feature on the 2010 MY?

I agree with everyone, the backup cam is a nice feature. It keeps my car off of curbs and other evil things.

More info on this would be helpful. I'm really interested in this as well.
