Right now, the best is probably laser interceptors. You will need dual heads for the rear and dual for the front for good coverage. The laser tamers is supposed to have it where you only need to have one head and fiber optics go where you need it and then you have to drill less into your car. Look up laser tamers on google.

Its an outfit run buy a few guys that do this on the side. They have other jobs. From what I hear it seems like it may be a great way to get good laser coverage.

Yeah if the fiber optics don't degrade the signal or cause too much delay in the system.

The only thing I feel a laser detector really does is let the cop know you have a detector when you slam on your brakes.
Yes I understand and have mine mounted low. The V1 is still better than nothing in this respect.

Honestly, just get a K40 laser jammer and call it a day. Ten times better than having radar

If only that were true and it was that easy. Some jurisdictions only use laser, some only use radar, and some use both. Radar is still much more prevalent across the States due to existing stock and money constraints, and therefore a better option for most people.

Most cops around the suburbs of chicago use radar while laser on the interstates of IL. Also laser is illegal in IL but i still want to get a diffuser one day maybe after laser tamers come out with their stuff.

I've got a Cobra iRadar and have it mounted in the upper-most portion of the windshield, in the tinted area, right above the rear-view mirror. You can't even see it from the outside of the vehicle. Just got back from a 2500 mile road trip, and that detector is one of the best I've ever owned. Completely destroys the POS Escort 9500ix that I bought for a similar trip the year before, and returned because I hated it. The Escort was so overly sensitive that it would pick up some signals from 10+ miles away through rolling hills. It made for many many many false alarms to the point that I'd just ignore it. the iRadar is not so sensitive that it picks up signals from miles away, but I did notice a couple where I had more than a mile before I saw the cop. I got 0 tickets on the trip, and abused the limit the entire time. It was very handy.

I was just going for a cheap simple radar detector, and got something even better with the iRadar.

I think his 9500ix was just defective or something. I can roll down the Las Vegas strip and not get a false return. In highway mode with X-band enabled.

also cobra's will give off enough that regular detectors will detect them. That's how bad cobras are.
