Remote start

Do they offer a factory remote start for the G37?

I want one, but don't want an aftermarket product.

Yep, you're right. I had one installed when I bought my G in Dec. of 09. I knew Infiniti didn't offer one the and electronics shop that I was going to have install it sugjested I go to a particular Infiniti dealer that used them for their remote starter installs. Because of how Infiniti dealers, and most others as well, love to blame any problems in the electrical systems on aftermarket installers he thought it would be in my best interest to have them install it through the Infiniti dealer so they can't blame anyone else but themselves if I were to ever have a problem, they would be held responsible. Only problem with it is that it works through a small one button fob and not through the factory fob. I do like having it in the winter weather when I can start the car and open my garage door from my bedroom.

I had my system installed at Fields Infiniti in Chicago. It's a DEI or Viper or something like that. I didn't go for the android/iphone integration for start, lock/unlock etc.

It uses 2 quick successive lock button presses on the factory fob.

Love it.

In Japan they offer a factory remote start. In North America they do not.

^ envious. a few other threads have covered the idea. the consensus was that it was simply too expensive and confusing (even for the more electrical-comfortable) to install. it's been done though, obviously as you can see. i would love to be able to start up my car from my bedroom in the mornings, especially on cold days. i'd be a little afraid to by-pass the clutch though (another issue for 6MT owners); i wouldn't be surprised if i did something stupid - leave the car in gear...eek!

That's a heck of a deal for dealer-installed remote start. It's over $600 for a Subaru at the dealer (but that is for a Subaru factory unit).
