4080 closing

All,
I talked to the (now) one guy from 4080 to find out if they were going to be open at all this weekend as I will be in Houston and I wanted to come by and look at their boxes. He told me his partner had backed out and he was closing the business down. I asked him if he had anything left for the G37 and he replied he had one box left. So I bought it.

Just an FYI if you wanted a 4080, you may have missed your opportunity.

Welcome to the forum Nick. I met you a couple of years ago when I brought my car (black 08 G37 coupe) to you for fitting of the G37 coupe enclosure. Glad things are going well for you.

Any hope of there being a passenger side enclosure coming in the future for the 08+ G37 coupe? I can donate my car again, I loved the aroma of resin in my car for 3 weeks and I miss it.

Best of luck.

Good to see you on here. I actually pulled a mold of both the passenger and driver side of your car when I had it, but is the demand really there for the passenger side? I couldn't get a commitment of min. 20 order so it never came to fruition but that may change now that I am connected.

I wonder if they make resin scented air (de-)fresheners .

The G37 sedan enclosure, on the other hand, is a GO and near completion.

Do you have any info on your boxes? I am interested in one. I was looking into the 4080 boxes but this is a welcomed alternative.

^ hmmm... I recognize that username.

If there is enough demand then I will check with IB (if they are still the marketing company for this forum) on becoming a vendor on here.

The production release on the sedan enclosure will be in January. We are slammed with building up our inventory in popular models and keeping up with orders even without the site launched.
The price range is similar to the other sedan model and all models are priced lower than previous middleman's offerings . Our new website will be up next week!

We are making the passenger side enclosure only. It does accomodate many 12in. subs and fits 07+ sedans.

Thanks,
Nick

How else are you going to stay in business when you make an enclosure that only fits a certain sub? You're limiting your potential growth! Good concept but bad follow through.

Exactly (someone hit the nail on the head!)... but there is a new guy heading up the direction... Me. It wasn't an issue of closing the doors, it was an issue of seeing beyond what it is and pushing forward with some new vehicles, concepts, more progressive manufacturing techniques and all of it done with a solid 5 year plan for this side (Boxology) of my business. Boxology is our least profitable side of the business, but car audio is in my core and I know we have a great product that literally thousands of clients are enjoying in their cars and we look forward to not only what it is now but what it will be.

Our current enclosures are not limited to a certain sub, the majority of 10 in. subwoofers deliver great sound quality and output in Boxology's designs with some being a little less here, and a little more there. What we don't do is offer the same airspace (or less) and proclaim that most 8's, 10's, 12's etc. will work "good enough" nor do we say that you can slap a monster of a sub into an enclosure that was structurally engineered (and I use that word lightly in most cases) for a more modest application. Honesty is the best policy and this turtle will win the race! Sound production with sound production quality.

Thanks,
Nick
