Text messages on the screen?

Just a quick question to my learned G owners out there:
Can the G display text messages received through bluetooth like the new Ford system? (assuming you have the Nav option)

I'm thinking not,but your input is appreciated.

I just googled this, and found out that SYNC will read incoming text messages to drivers. Not sure how outgoing is handled, but they do have 15 or so preset outgoing messages to use while in transit (e.g. "running late", etc.).

I don't think I'd ever use this, but I have to give Ford a for their efforts. They are ahead of the curve with technology these days. Their new parallel parking feature is kicking Lexus' butt.

You mean you have to give Microsoft a since they manage the SYNC program. Ford is just the major partner for the Microsoft auto software (sync) system.

I never understood why more companies haven't signed up for Microsoft Auto. Is there some kind of exclusivity deal with Ford?
