Bluetooth Steaming Audio:Unlimited potential!

On the 2010 Nav system Streaming Bluetooth Audio is supported. So I decided to fool around with this and brought my laptop out to the car.
I went into settings, Bluetooth and then put the car into pairing mode with my laptop. Went without a hitch! I now have access to my full media library on my laptop hard drive. All 300g's!

Think of this...you could have a netbook, with a 500g hard drive, many playlists, or random selections..

What about wireless broadband internet? Now, pandora, etc, etc, etc

If you are really into big libraries, why not put a PC in the trunk! Use a netbook with remote access to have full media player capabilities...

Gotta love that G!

I should mention what you need to do...You will need the Widcomm bluetooth stack which is a free download. It supports broadcomm and toshiba adapters, maybe a few more (alps which is broadcomm as well). You do the install, and then just do the pairing.
This was on Windows 7 (x64)

If you have a Nexus One, iPhone or similar media capable phone with apps, you don't even need the laptop/netbook .

That's because the 08-09 model does not support bluetooth audio streaming.

well for those who have mini-jacks on their phones/Smartphones/iPhones...basically: EVERYONE, because all phones have a mini-jack out,

all you have to do is connect a stereo mini-jack-to-RCA cable from the RCA jacks in your Infiniti console to your phone, and you'll have all of your music in your phone sent to the AUX of the audio area of your Infiniti.

Just depends on the size of your phone music library as to how much music you can play through the audio of your vehicle.

not in the 2010, at least if you have the premium package with USB. The aux jack is gone now. Just USB (which is finicky) or bluetooth a2dp.

tomb18: true, i don't have 2tb, but for my media needs my 160gb ipod classic does well, with my nexus one doing all the streaming and phone stuff.

Dopey, I don't have 2TB either
Just commenting on the potential. Now, if we could just find someone who could hack the OS on the computer, we could add lots of functionality.

If any of you are truely interested in the real protential of all this, got to www.mp3cars.com

You will find hundreds of cars (all makes and models...even my old Bimmer included) that have Car PC's in them running all sorts of systems (from custom, touchscreen friendly software, to regular WMC, to Mac stuff).

When I return back to the states, I'm going to re-install my car pc once I figure out where to add the touchscreen to control it (I want to keep the factory screen as well).
