"private caller" with incoming call

for a couple weeks now, I've had "private caller" listed on the screen with all my incoming BT phone calls....

for many months of ownership now, i've had my BB 8330 paired flawlessly and I downloaded the phone book no problem, and it's listed the person on the phonebook -- now it's saying private caller.

Anyone experienced this -- I tried re-pairing the phone and re-downloaded the book, I checked all the BT settings on the blackberry -- no encryption enabled, no prompt for connection.

Thanks

Good question, but I dont know the answer. Sometimes mine says the name and sometime it says private caller. I have found no way to control it.

Happens intermittenly for me as well on my Storm 1.

My wife has called me twice within my 45 minute drive home and it has shown her as a private caller followed by her normal caller ID within that same drive.

I have never gotten the call id to show on mine...always "private" with my samsung instinct.

But the infiniti website does show "call id" to be supported and tested for my phone.

Solved.

I just deleted the phone from the G's memory, re-paired it, downloaded the phone book, and voila (at least for now) .. all seems to be corrected.

It wasn't enough my first time around (as in my first post) to just re- pair the phone, you have to delete it, apparently. Oh well.

Sadly, now all my voice contacts are gone (sigh) .. those are always a pain to record/program.

I pair with my iPhone 3G and while the phone shows the ID, the car's screen shows "Private Caller" intermittently. I haven't taken enough notice to see a trend or attributable cause as to why the "private" ID. I just know it happens like, say, 1 in 15 calls or so. Back in the day when I first got my G, and I paired with a basic Nokia flip, it never did that. With the Nokia flip phone, my phone personal ringtone would even play over the car's speaker! Which was real neat. Honestly, that Nokia paired with my G way better than the iPhone. Go figure!
