Replaced mid-range speakers in Bose system

Decided to go with the new Helix Precision P203 component speakers. At first, I had installed one new speaker to compare the sound. The stock speaker sounded like from the *** comparing to the new one

OK, now I think I have the sound scene, that I want with the MB Quard RTC-19 tweeters:

But I think the center channel ruins the stereo-effect, doesn't it? Maybe it would be better to cut it off? Or my audio-electrician can make it -2db (less louder), what do you think?

I thought the center dash speaker was only used for phone/nav voice and not for music? I don't know where I got this from though. Can anyone else confirm?

Will replacing just mids with everything else OEM really improve the sound? I think the stock Bose is OK but it doesn't sound nearly as good as the Klipsch system I have hooked up to my computer. I wouldn't rip out the whole system but if changing 2 speakers improved sound I might give it a shot.

What size are the mids that you are using to replace the Bose speakers with? Did you use a separate amplifier or use the stock one? I have been thinking about replacing the speakers but worried that it wouldn't make a difference. I wasn't sure if the sound was equalized before it got to the speaker. The Bose sound seems very flat and I'm looking for something with a bit more top end.

Yes, it really has improved the top end mid's. And Bose amp splits left and right channel to the center speaker to improve the sound scene, but it ruins someway the stereo effect... I think, I'm gonna make it -1db or -2db.

Also, I'm thinking about the crossover for the mid's to cut them at 4000-5000Hz, as they receive the same signal as tweeters (stock tweeters have built-in crossover).

Were the crossovers located on/near the speakers or is the crossover being done at the amplifier? Also, how are bringing down the volume of the center speaker?

I was gonna ask about the ohms too.

I know on the 1st gen bose system it was all 2ohm. And there was only like 1 or kinds of speakers that were 2ohm and the same sizes. Mad annoying.

Did you look into what ohms the bose system is set to run at stock?

First of all it's a '07 G35x sedan (premium/navi/tech). Though I don't think the BOSE system is really much different from the coupe.

The numbers I gave are for the stock BOSE components (tested with an electrician tool).

What's the wattage of the OEM speakers? I don't want to get 150 watt speakers and have it too soft a sound if the stocks are 30 watts.

Bose speakers and amplifiers have a tendancy to be different than normal speakers and amplifiers because the system is designed to work together. Once you replace one of the components(speakers in this case) you may need something else to adjust volume levels or frequency response.
