My dealership is Infiniti Laval they gave me the best price and didn't try to sell me anything else. Can't comment on service yet but overall i'm happy with my first contact with them. 13:52 ET and still no call from the supervisor, must be a hard hit on the budget of Nissan to replace a rearview mirror.

Update: got a msg from nissan in my voicemail, called back 5 mins later, supervisor was busy with a client, i was waiting a call back at 15:00, never came in, called back at 16:30 and supervisor is gone from the office, no one at infiniti could confirm me that i'll get a call on monday. Everytime i called, i was put on hold for a long period and the representatives all seem like their sleeping when i call LOL !

When i called ~ 1 month ago to get info from infiniti usa about importing a car to canada, they gave me accurate info fast and very curtious.

Infiniti canada stand by their position: " The information contained on this site may be changed at any time without prior notification or obligation. INFINITI makes no representation as to the accuracy of this information. See actual vehicle at your INFINITI dealership for complete accuracy. INFINITI reserves the right to make changes at any time, without notice, in prices, colours, materials, equipment, specifications and models, and to discontinue models or equipment. For information on additional options and accessories, contact your INFINITI dealership. "

Basically they can install whatever they want in the car, and I should check if all the standard options are installad in MY car, because not all G37S convertibles are the same.

I asked them if there's anything else that's different on my car, that's not written in the pamphlet or infiniti.ca website, the supervisor has no clue and they are sorry about the situation.

I'll give a call to comsumer protection office see if they have the legal right change the advertised specs without notice.

Anybody else in canada has a G37s vert without NAV ? ... do you have a compass integrated in you rearview mirror ?

Got off the phone with the Quebec consumer office, Infiniti canada is not obligated to respect the writting on their wbesite or the pamphlet.

The only thing that's true and valid is the clause at the bottom of each informative page. In this case this one : The information contained on this site may be changed at any time without prior notification or obligation. "

End of story !! thank god my radio plays MP3s i forgot to bring my burned mp3 cd to the dealer to make sure infiniti installed it on mine. !!!!
It's like kinder surprise chocolate, you never know what your gonna find in your car !!

My G37 brochure said that the rearview mirror only had a compass if you didn't get the navigation system.

Like the statement says...look at the car you're buying. If you really really really wanted a compass maybe when you drove it, looked at it and prior to buying it you would say "there is no compass?"

Seriously? I drive 6 vehicles a total of about 50k/year and I use a compass more than a nav. I would guess that one who has no need for it either doesn't travel far, relies entirely on a nav, or simply.......can't. I wouldn't purchase a vehicle without one.

can't what? Do you just drive by compass and stars? I drove across the country and made it without a compass or navigation. I just followed the signs and used a map. 80-East strangely goes East and into a rising sun.

Maybe you need a compass in the plains...I don't think it's a "must have option" if it is for you GREAT. But if it was maybe you should have looked for it when you purchased it. Or if you want to find the northern trade route...buy a compass and stick it on the dash? There are simple solutions and the OP seems to really want to get upset with Infiniti although they clearly state changes to standard equipment will/can be made at anytime.

I tend to go off the feel of a car for driving over worrying about a compass.

BM,
Rather than continuing to put down those owners who like compasses in their cars, and seeing that you feel so strongly about this subject, perhaps you should start a national campaign to eliminate them from all automobiles. After all, they’re nothing but a distraction to automotive purists in that they increase clutter on our rear-view mirrors and they add to manufacturing costs unnecessarily. I think you should start a petition to rid the world of these dastardly, useless devices once and for all. I’m sure we’ll all stand in line to sign it.

I'm not putting anybody down, just saying it's not that big of a deal and is EXPLAINED in the text of the website. I can't see making a mountain of complaints about a compass I'm sorry. If you feel you NEED one then that should have been on the list of things to look for when you are shopping.

So stop making dumb analogies about mirrors or wheels. The compass isn't critical no matter what people say and its' not on the car. If you need one STICK one on, get a phone, learn where the north star is.

Maybe instead of an RPM gauge we can have a big compass and maybe even a spot to have a parrot on your shoulder. And if you're offended by humor just ignore me..there should be an option.

I wonder how I'll get home tonight because I won't be able to tell where east is...if only I had a compass and an altimeter..maybe even some barometric pressure readings

And I don't see compass listed in the features on the website

This reminds me of an old story from my Navy days. I was once asked how I could navigate from Hawaii to our NAS Point Mugu home base in Oxnard if the airplane’s compass was not working. I said I would just follow the dog star Sirius (which rises in the east) and fly until we spot land. Then I would tune into a standard radio station. If I heard French we would turn right, if they spoke Spanish we would turn left, and we’re bound to find our airbase.

I do a lot of cross country driving also and tend to look at the compass a lot. My 2010 sedan with Nav. didn't come with a compass, in the mirror. It has a little compass that points north on the Nav screen. I was disappointed that there wasn't a decent compass readout in the mirror.

Umm here's my confusion. Since you have NAVI and you can either set it to Always have north up or ROTATE to North...you have a giant compass in the Navi...its the screen.
