HELP! I tried to do the mod to play video while the car is moving...

OK...don't yell at me. Lets just say...it didn't work.

I snipped a few wires according to some directs and then it didn't work. I undid what i cut (rewired)...but now my Slip and VDC off lights are on.

Also, I noticed the shifter light between the + and - is on when I get out of the car along with the light next to the P.

Any ideas?

Pull the negative cable on the battery?

I know...i don't care about the mod....

I've returned the car to normal...but the lights remain on. My question is how to reset the lights?

Guess I'll let it slide since we're discussing undoing the mod. Good luck

An ECU reset should turn them off, but they'll come on again if it's more than just a reset problem.

If you had the negative battery connection off while you were working and you put everything back like it was before you started, then it should be reset already. If I had done the mod () I believe I would recall that I may have had some warning lights until I potentially drove it down the road.

Now if you did not disconnect the battery, you might have blown a fuse depending on if you cut the right wires. I hear that the wires are different for Nav and non-Nav so you have to be very carefull.

PM me if you have questions that need more specific answers.

Interested in what you find wrong.

Here are my symptoms.

When I leave the car in N and shut it off...it doesn't bug me like it used to.

The slip and vdc lights come out about 2 seconds after the car starts...at the same time...the tach jumps from 0 to 700...so there is a delay there. At the exact time the tach springs to life, the slip/vdc come on.

The climate system doesn't remember that it was on before the car was shut off.

Sounds like you forgot to put a connector back on. You sure you got all of them re-connected?

Did you turn the car on with any of the plugs disconnected?

Id double check to see all the wires are reconnected and reset the ecu.

If my guess is right, there is a connector that got missed which means he had his car powered up with a missing connector.

If true, an ECU reset might fix it, but I vaguely remember reading a KP Technologies thread that some of those lights are latched on until a reset "procedure" is run and on top of that, there might be different procedures for each light.

Reset ECU, if that doesn't work, disconnect battery over night.

If those don't work, then you may have missed a connection.

Guys I'm getting scared.

I've reconnected EVERYTHING...where they should be. I resoldered the two wires i cut. Same thing though....

The car keeps forgetting I had the air on before I shut it off...the tach is delayed when you turn it on (the tach stays at 700 where the car was when it was shut off)...and the trip/mpg/etc..resets.

Fuses?

From the info I sent you, did you originally cut the wrong wires? If so, what wires did you cut? Provide the connector and pin number if you cut the wrong wires. I ask because doing the unnamed thing correctly would not cause this issue. Wondering if you cut something wrong and then it caused a problem when you powered it back up especially if you grounded the wrong wire. And yes check all the fuses.

Yea...i'm thinking i fried a relay maybe? I mean...everything works fine when the car is running/on position, but the cluster is dead when the car is off...(which it shouldn't be). So I get no "press brake to start" messages etc.

Any Infiniti master tech's I can email?
