How to add names to phonebook

I have had my car a year and a half and still haven't done this. When I get a call through bluetooth the number shows up on my screen, but not the name of the person if they are in my phone book. How do I get the names to show up?

Thanks

There's a few threads on this in the forum that you might search for.

I have an Iphone and was stuck building the phonebook from scratch, just using the voice commands

Do you have NAV or not? There seems to be some differences. First of all the name will not be displayed automatically from your phone - it needs to be in the car's phonebook. With NAV you can edit the phonebook by going to SETTING/PHONE and then PHONEBOOK. You can add entries with names manually or download from your phone. Without NAV it appears that there are some limitations but you can still do this.

Okay, no I do not have Nav. I did search it, but I am still confused. Hence this thread, I was hoping someone could just give me some help here. Maybe a step by step.

Thanks

if you do not have nav then you have to do it all by voice input. you can send the phone number by bluetooth when it asks you to but that's the only way to utilize the bluetooth for non nav cars

I had the same issue trying to figure out how to enter the phonebook items in the non-nav system. Its a pretty tedious task entering all the names by voice, but its quicker than beaming via the bluetooth. The advantage of beaming through the bluetooth though is that the contact name appears.
