I have a 4080 enclosure w/ the JL 10w3v4 and an Alpine MRP-M500 amp. I had a budget going in and am more than happy with the boom coming out. Believe it or not, the enclosure cost more than the amp and sub combined!
Alpine PDX amps are clean, small, efficient, stay cool, and fit perfectly where your factory Bose amps are currently located beneath the trunk floor. As far as enclosures and subs, I have an like the 4080 because it is a custom fit sealed enclosure that doesn't take up hardly any useful trunk space which is at a premium in the coupe as you know. What sub you use totally depends on how you intend to power it, what type of sound you want, and your budget.
lots of good companies out there. check with shops in the area that you plan on doing your install with to see what they recommend then research the brands.
