So I just go my G a week ago and not sure how to load anything onto the 9.3GB hard drive in the car.
I have an MP3 CD and a CF with Mp3's on it. It manual states there should be a record button but I am not seeing it, what am I doing wrong?
Welcome - I am in the same boat. Just got my G and the Musiic Box sounded like a cool feature but the only way to add music is via the CD. When you insert a CD you have the option to record to the hard drive & that is the only way to add music. Pretty LAME if you ask me. Equally as lame is the CF music interface.
and what's even worse, is that when you record the CD onto the HDD, it is not compressing it into an MP3 sized file. Instead, it is leaving the recorded audio file the size of a regular wav file. That means you will not be able to fit nearly as many CD's onto the 9GB portion.
well thats just stupid actually, first fault I see on the G37... you would think since Ford has the Microsoft Sync system a car like the G37 would have something at least close!

i don't think that's right. i believe the Music Box uses ATRAC encoding to compress the recordings from an audio CD. if it didn't you could only fit about 13 CD's onto the hard drive. and i know you can add lots more than that.
