If I buy the intelligent Key FOB from the dealership, would I be able to program it myself so it works with my 08 G37 coupe?

Obvisoulsy i would rather do it myself since the dealership is charging me 125 for the program and 89 for the FOB/Key (includes cutting it).

So Ill buy it from there but does anyone have any programing instructions for it????

Go to eBay and buy a new fob and blank for $45. The dealership will charge you $100 to reprogram it. The fob, blank key, and clip from the dealer will be over $200 so go the eBay route. Also, depending on how reputable your dealership is, they may want to charge you $75 to code the blank. 08 infinitis do not need the blank coded.

 

Thanks for the info....Im not sure I understand the lingo properly...."Code the blank"---what does that mean? Im assuming the reprogram is for the fob so it can start my car..lock...unlock..trunk..and panic buttons...what does the codeing mean? Also, will it erase my previous set, or it shouldn't change anything on my previous set...thanks

 

i paid 150 for all inclusive at the dealer. not too bad actually. nissan wanted more.

Be careful of the ikeys available through ebay.

There was a recall on them a little over a year ago. The ones taken back could possibly end up on ebay. The recall issue was the ikey getting wiped by cell phones when they are in close proximity.

Search for the recall bulletin to determine how recalled ikeys can be identified.

Only the dealer can pair the ikey to the car. All keys must be present.

 

thats weird they are charging so much....my dealer just makes u pay 140....thats key and programing

i had to go through this route, because the my car came from cali infiniti of fairfield and hussain... only sent me on key...

Go get a fob from ebay, make sure it matches the code on ur current key, buy a blank hard key from dealer and get them to reprogram/cut for ya.

cheapest route.. they quoted me like $300 for the fob alone and i got it on ebay for $40
