With the map on, there is a continuous series of yellow dots that are fixed with the road. The seem to be less than .1 miles apart in terms of spacing as the map moves.

Ok, I will try again. When driving the car and have the map displayed, there are small yellow dots displayed. These dots are represented as a part of the road, they are on the road itself as displayed. As you travel the dots are moving as well. They are only on the road itself and no where else on the display. Each dot seems to be about .1 mile spacing.
I looked up the icon list to see what it could be but no yellow dots were on the list. If this makes no sense, I may try to take a pic.

 

They are breadcrombs, showing you where you have come from I believe, should be a setting. A pic would help.

its tracking where your going.... u can turn them off if u dont like them....

Here is a pic....this was taken as the car was stationary. How does it know where I am going when sitting in the garage? The car is at the bottom of the screen in the house.

I did not notice a setting to turn them off.

No not traffic, it shows solid lines to indicate flow and in my case traffic coverage does not extend out to my area.

I thought it might be last route driven. But I have seen it use the dots to show where I am going, not where I have been....

Ok, fixed it. Went to map settings and turned off a tracking feature. Dots are gone. Need to pull out the manual and find out if there is any value in that feature. Seemed to have tracked every road I have ever driven on.
