Although I've had my bones to pick with the Nav, I'd get it again. Nice to have it integrated.

anyone know how much the dealer charges for map updates? and how often do they come out? that's another consideration.

and for music get an ipod - no need to keep on the car hd or burn CDs.

btw, I don't have nav. would have gotten but I bought end of the year off the lot. but I have no regrets - I have a garmin I can use when I get lost. Only used it once in 4 months.

Backup camera would be nice though.

With the economy the way it is right now, you may be able to get it free.
If not I wouldn't pay extra for it. What's so important about nav? In my city, I know my way around. Give me an address and I'll find it. All you really need to know is the dividing streets between n-e-s-w. WHen driving out of town, I rent cars so what's in mine isn't necessary. It's a toy that some will give you props over but I'm too grown to care about props from people.

Well I've heard some people say their dealers would upgrade it at no charge others will charge probably $100-200. Another feature, forgot about the backup camera, it's nice to have. Can't go wrong with the Nav, I would only consider the Tech package as not worth it.

Some of us actually travel in our cars. We end up in towns, sometimes even BIG CITIES, that we've never visited. In California it's illegal to stick a device to the windshield, so a built-in GPS is a bit nicer, and for us older drivers, the 7" screen is better than a 4.3" standalone. I wouldn't go anywhere without a GPS anymore. Today, mine took me to a restaurant in San Jose, a winery in Paso Robles, a hotel in Pismo Beach and a restaurant nearby. Without missing a beat it directed me to off and on ramps, small side streets, and saved me a lot of stress and frustration. I can scroll through a listing of restaurants in the GPS, pick one and be guided to it. Ditto for a winery.

There is a big blind spot right behind the car when backing up. The rear-view camera helps a lot.

I find it hard to find different stores in the area. For some reason it doesnt like to list the local stores :/ I'll get stores 40-100 miles away but nothing close. I dunno if it's a setting or just it needs the newest version.

unless you know the exact address I find my garmin>infinity nav for quick navigation.

I never stuck a cd in my car. Ipod adapter all the way. Why should I maintain different libraries of music when I can just hook up the ipod.

side question. When you rip cd's to the hd, does it get track info or do you manually have to type that in.

It Downloads all the track info to HD same as displaying when you play a CD.

Maybe I'll give it a try in my next car. Sounds really helpful.

I can see it now. There will be another post around here that says: I bought a non-nav car and now I’m sorry. How much would it cost to add factory nav now?

The usual answer: Don’t bother. It is cost preventative; around $10,000. Get another car; this time with nav.
