Although the life of the battery varies depending on the operating conditions, the battery's life is approximately 2 years. If the battery is discharged, replace it with an new one.

Key fob lasted 3+ years in my G35, my friend owns it now, still works..

You might be able to get the battery replaced under warranty.

That's cool, that's one example, might be a best case scenario though...
With the key lock delete, I'm gonna replace mine about every 18 months, maybe 12, to be on the safe side. (unless about 25 members happen to chime in with approximately the same type example)
Might put an extra battery in my wallet too...

Yeh that's a little extreme, post a thread over on Driver and see how long peoples' key fob batteries have lasted. You won't need to replace it that often. I was in my car daily, even used my remote (2 locks) to roll my windows up 2-3 times a day and it still works!

No, that would make my thick wallet thicker=greater chance of seat wrinkle.

I had a weak battery. The Car's warning system warned me that the battery was low. I the lock delete also and not worried about when to replace the battery, cause the car is gonna tell me. It's in the manual.

2-21 is the description
2-19 is the photo of the warning indicator for that condition.

PDF manual is your friend.

Indeed the manual is my friend! However, looking at the pages you specified, I can only find that the Intelligent key insertion indicator appears when the key battery is discharged...(# 3 page 2-21)
I believe this means when the battery is completely dead and the car will not start. I'm talking about a "low battery" warning for the Intelligent key, a warning that would let us know our battery is about to stop working, not an indicator to let us know our battery is completely dead and because of that we now have to insert the key into the Intelligent key port...
Thoughts??

I was using the PDF manual . The page numbers are a little different.

The printed manual on page 2-20 has a photo. Number 8. This is what you will see on your dash when the battery is low.

On page 2-22 Item 8 it says, "
8. Intelligent Key battery discharge
indicator
This indicator appears when the Intelligent Key
battery is running out of power.
If this indicator appears, replace the battery
with a new one." Referring to the photo on page 2-20.

I can attest to the fact that the IK will still work fine without putting it in the port when you first see this indicator. I used my IK for two days before I got a battery. The other indicator #3 , is for when it is dead.
