You have to change the screen to a touch screen, buy the HD unit, probably a few other things (I inquired about this a while ago too just out of curiousity, it's not an easy task) not to mention have it installed. You're looking at $2500 or more and I also think you have to remove the 6-disc changer for the single which is probably a few hundred.

why not get an aftermarket indash unit... you may be able to find better quality for cheaper than factory.

you should've thought about this before you got your car. i think adding nav to your car now will be really expensive. with that, i'd suggest that you just get an aftermarket nav system.

For in dash, I think you are gonna have to wait until someone comes up with a DIN kit like on the G35's. The problem is, HVAC displays, trip computer, etc. are all tied into that oem screen. Your only option besides a really really expensive custom job would be a portable unit like a Garmin Nuvi. You could also try finding a salvaged navi cluster from a wrecked G. Good luck dude.

ofcourse if money is no object, you could probably get a custom audio shop to fabricate something for you to maybe do in-dash and keep the oem screen? I've seen that done on 6th gen Maximas. Just not sure exactly where they would put that second screen. don't mind me, i'm just brainstorming here.

I'm sure all the screen sizes are pretty standard or an audio shop will custom install.
Eclipse, Alpine, and Pioneer make a touch screen display type unit which has navigation, you can also find a system that offers tv tuner, rear view camera, cd, radio, and dvd with these after market systems.
Take a trip by one of your local after market audio shops I'm sure they can help you and get everything in for under $3,000. which is cheaper and more options than Infiniti's stock system.

You think that the car's oem displays (trip, hvac, etc) can be tied into an aftermarket system at this point? not arguing at all with you, just wondering.

yes the kits are universal they just change the dash trim kit, the plastic border around the unit. Now if this is for sale yet I do not know... but I know they offer them for the G35, so if it isn't out already it should come soon.

OK, but what about the actual info display. Unlike the G35, the HVAC display is in the main screen instead of in a seperate area. The DD kits for the G35 allowed for a DD screen, but required the expensive replacement for the temp control buttons. Still, the HVAC display was intact because it was in a seperate disaply. How do you think that will be addressed in an aftermarket kit?

This DD install does not have the HVAC (fan speed, dual zone temp, etc) dislay in it because the HVAC is in an area above it on the dash. How would replacing the center screen on a G37 with an aftermarket navi screen address that issue. Again, not arguing, but making sure the OP's question is fully explored.
