Guys,
You are making this way too difficult.
The reason the operator may question a person asking for the $77 a year deal is because it don't exist!
XM refers to this promotion as their Half Price Offer.

Please don't ruin this for others by calling with incorrect information.
Below are the facts to the promotion:
1. XM has a Half Price Offer that they mail to select trial customers
2. When you call, simply state: "I've received your Half Price Offer and would like to sign up".
3. The operator will ask for your XM Radio ID, your billing information and start your subscription.
That's it, you're done!!

Enjoy the music!

Sorry, I didn't ask the XM rep about traffic and being that I've never actually seen the half price promotion, I don't know if the promotion applies to both radio and traffic.

Thanks, bryan3d4. It worked like a charm. The traffic was an additional $48/yr.

I read somewhere that the first flyer they send through the mail will offer their normal prices. If you don't respond, they'll send you another one with cheaper prices. If you don't respond to that one either, THEN they'll send you the half off deal. Can anyone confirm?

I just got my first flyer btw...definitely not worth 13/mo

Chase,

I never received the half off flyer and I don't believe it's XM's policy to send it to every trial customer.

If you review the thread, I left the instructions that worked for me and others.

when i called, the lady offered monthly, something else, then 77 for a full year. no pleading necessary. with the traffic, i paid a little over 120 for a full year. not bad.

hopefully i can take advantage of something when the merger with Sirius is in full effect.

I forgot to ask about that. I don't need traffic much (7 miles from home to work) but will see in the invoice.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe XM has included traffic in this promotion.
To my knowledge traffic is an additional $3.99 per month.
