Side camera firmware is in our cars.

I know a few people have stated intrest in getting the 370gt side mirror camera. I was originally told the US cars didnt have the firmware in them for using the side camera. But after a member posted the self check system for our cars and browsing through the camera section in that it states about the side view camera. So i am assuming we have the firmware already in the cars. So what we need to find out is do we have the connection in the car to plug up the side camera. If so I am ordering my camera asap....

what a tantalizing thought...isn't that probably the single coolest thing the 370gt has over the G37?

I just dont know how to confirm this. I mean is clearly says in the car's self check system undercamera Side view camera which is the mirror cam so i mean it has to have something for it in the system. I think the main issue will be if there is a connection for the mirror cam or if it will have to be wired up.

Whats the purpose of mirror cam on the 370GT? I've seen pictures but was unsure at the time I saw it. Is it to show how close you are to the curb when you're parallel parking?

yes exactly, it helps to protect your wheels when you are parking

If it is possible, are we looking at replacing the whole mirror or just the unpainted bottom plastic part? And is there a passenger side cam also or just the one?

I would think you have to replace the entire mirror. As far as i have read the camera is only on the drivers side.....

Damn, that's right...it was never mentioned which side we're talking about, I guess I remember seeing a pic of the camera in another thread and remembered it being on the "drivers" side and probably forgot or didn't notice it was left hand drive.
Still trick, but not quite as useful for us to be on that side.

ok I am 100% it is on the passanger side on the 370gt. Which means it will be on the drivers side on our car. Ya that kinda sucks because It would be much better to have it on the passanger side but a mirror camera will still be pimp regardless...
