no 6 CD changer?

I tried to stick 2 CDs in the dash but it didn't let me. So I went back inside and researched online. As it turns out, if you have the nav package, it REPLACES the 6 CD changer with a single CD player?!

Just want it to be confirmed.......

Unfortunately. But it doesn't bother too much me since I have my ipod hooked up and haven't really used a cd in a car for a couple years now.

yea, I don't want to hook up the ipod because I don't want it to hang out of the arm rest, the cable is a pain to unplug too. Not to mention, ipod's got too many songs, I just wanted the selection of "driving music". heh. Hence the mp3 CD.

How do you transfer music onto the hard drive, through the compact flash?

You rip your audio cd's on to the hard drive. I haven't tried it yet but I'm sure its a slow and painful process.

I apologize for my laziness. Just looked at the quick reference guide. You rip it from a CD by using the "rec" function to record it onto the hard drive.

......in case you're wondering....haha

Yea, it supports mp3 CDs, which is what I'm going to do. Just burn a few and store it on the hard drive then you're good to go without hooking up the pod. Sweet.

Sorry to hijack this thread but while we're at it. . . . . .
Does the iPod connectivity only included in the tech package??
Correct me if I'm wrong.

The hard drive has built in write-protect software that disables ripping MP3 songs. You can only play MP3 songs from either the compact flash or a CD.

iPod Interface Connectivity is included with Nav Package. Tech package includes Adaptive Front Lighting, Intelligent Cruise Control with Preview Braking, and Pre-Crash Seat belts.

iPod comes with the Premium package not the Nav. I rip a CD with about 18 songs in just over 10 minutes. I say it takes 10-12 minutes on average. You can switch to radio/musix box/flash while its ripping since you can't change songs. Only wish we could select the songs from the CD we want to rip and it not rip them all.

Quick Reply: no 6 CD changer?
