Updating Nav Data

So now that its HDD based, how is Infiniti handling updates? Swap out the the HDD and copy our personal data over? Write over the old map data? What if the new data is more than the capacity of the drive?

"How often is the mapping software updated? How can I find out about updates?
The mapping software is updated annually. Check our website or contact our Customer Support Center for more information."
I am assuming the data has to be the same. How we get the update, I'm not sure.

It sucks that my car is still missing roads in my neighborhood that have been around for 4-5 years.

New email update from Zenrin:

Dear Customer,

The update for you vehicle will be released end of December. You will have to purchase an update code from us and then take your vehicle to the dealership where they will perform the initial update.

Thank you

My dealership is clueless about how it's even updated and was scrounging inside looking for a DVD to swap out. Guess they'll figure it out in December.

especially when I take it in and they still look at me like I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I know it's gonna happen.

I think this is unfair. Our vehicles should be equipped with the latest and greatest. They should be offering this free of charge. Especially if it's just on a CF card it's no biggy to update.

I guess we need to make friends with some techs to get it done for free! LOL
