Went to Best Buy tonight to swap out XM for Sirius in my G37 Journey and the guy said he couldn't do it. I know it's possible to swap out the brains and have the screen read out Sirius' info. Just wanted to know if you guys know any place that specializes in this cause I have Sirius in my work truck and XM really sucks.

No. What I should have said is that I heard it is possible to swap out the brains of XM to Sirius, not sure about the readout though. Howard Stern talks about it a lot, there is a company that specializes in selling parts to change out XM in these new cars. My 3 free months of XM just expired and I need to get Sirius in soon. I emailed the company called tss-radio.com to find out if this is a possibility.

I still have 6 months left on my Sirius subscription from my previous car. It sucks that we are basically forced into XM, I'm not putting my Sirius static box aftermarket receiver in my G37, I hate that static through the FM tuner option, so I'm trying to get used to listening to XM, SIGH!! Heck I wonder if I could hook my old Sirius unit into the audio inputs in the console?? Have to check into this tonight.

If I remember correctly, I thought the merger between Sirius and XM would introduce new types of memberships. The different membership plans would allow customers with either system to mix and match stations they wanted. The pricing scheme would start much lower for fewer stations ($10 for 40 stations), then top out at a higher price for all stations from XM and Sirius. I'm not entirely certain about the details, but hopefully it's true. Check out the following link: http://www.xmmerger.com/

This is false information. They are working on a merger now in which I am told Sirius will take over XM. Its not even really a takeover as much as it is they are deciding to work together for Sat. Radio.

Yes, that's the plan. The problem is that Howard Stern is involved and that a merger would basically be death to regular radio. That's a lot of advertising dollars and they throw their money at the people in the government. I got my email back from TSS and he said it is not possible to swap out the brains from XM to Sirius for the new Infinti's right now. I'm probably just going to pay monthly for XM until the merger goes through, if it goes through. I have a protable Sirius and like somebody said previosuly it doesn't sound that great, but it's better than regular radio.
