Hi,

Bought a used G37, and want to activate XM traffic, radio, etc.

I looked through the things the dealer gave me but can't find the "radio ID" so I can activate XM online.

Is it on the car somewhere or anyway I can access it through the navscreen?

Seems really simple but I'm lost

It's either XM channel 0 or 1 forgot which will display your radio ID on the g) got too many different brands in the garage

 

Yup it's channel 0.

I had Sirius on my other vehicle and now I obviously have XM and you would think that you could just transfer over the account since they merged quite some time ago, but no.

Here are the 3 different stories I was told by XM after calling and getting overly frustrated and hanging up.

1) You have to wait for your Sirius contract to expire (2 years from now!!!)
2) You cannot have a sirius account as well as an XM account at the same time (that one got a really big curse word and hangup)
3) You will have to pay for both plans since your Sirius contract is already active

Either way I finally tried calling the Sirius number even though I didnt know my radio id (since it was stolen). The person poke English as a first language and cancelled my account immediately no questions asked.

Now time to get back on the horn with XM and see how much of a pain it is going to be for them to put Stern on there.

 

In case anyone else has the same problem. I took my car to the dealer and he turned the radio tuner **** and it went to channel 0.

 

I guess you can't use the word **** on this forum. Instead I will use the word dial.
