Thanks, that setup is a +22 in back so you have a bit more room than the +15, still have to run stretched but may get by w/ just shaving the bumper bracket and not have to run too much camber.

planning on going 20x10 +25 in the front and 20x11 +28 in the back will this cause any problems with my awd? thanks.

Depends on your tire sizing, going to be a tough fit though without a real stretched &/or cambered setup w/ possible fender work as well.

Understandable. On another note this guy has these rims currently on his G sedan and he said he has no problems with fitment. He is also local so I would be picking them up. I asked him about tire sizing but still have not gotten a reply back. Heres a pic.

hey Blnewt,

quick question about tire diameter. I'm looking to get a new set of shoes once my build is complete in about a week or two. i already have 19x9.5/19x10 forgestars with 245/40/19 front and 275/35/19 in the back. ideally i want a 305 in the back with a stickier tire.. unfortunately the tires i'm looking at (nitto NT05s) are all made with a bit more sidewall.

i'm questioning if 305/35/20 and 255/40/20 will be a huge downside, overall i think it adds about 1.5" to the overall diameter of the wheels. obviously it will affect the speedo and i know the fitment can be done.

but is there any real downside to increasing overall wheel/tire diameter? i know jeeps and trucks do it all the time without thinking so it cant be too terrible, right?


edit; the alternative to this is getting michelin PSS which come in pretty much every damn size imaginable, but will cost about $500 more overall and will be less sticky from a launch perspective. i'm trying to find the stickiest set up possible that still can be driven back and forth to work. this will be accomodating a ~700whp turbo/built motor/built tranny set up. edit2; daily driven will only be about 500-550whp, fwiw, but will have the option to turn it up in the future.

Hey just purchased my G vert and was wondering about wheels specs. Iam not really into the "stance" or "hellaflush" fitment look. I want a flush, OEM+, wheel spec for the vert. 19s looks GREAT but I think Iam leaning more towards lowering 2inches, getting wider 18s and tires.

How do you guys feel about running non staggered setup on G verts as well ? Tirerack recommends 18x8.5 F +42 and 18x9.5 R +45 (ENKEI RSM9). Are the specs too safe and maybe slightly sunken in the wheel well ?

You could try Toyo R888s in 255 or 265/35/19 front 305/30/19 rear. In 20s you'd have to run a 285/35 315/30 set, I think the 19s would work well for your situation.

If you like the RSM9s I'd look into the SSR GTV02s, nice wheel and should work well in these specs for your vert

There's many nice 18s in this link too, the Work Emotion line is a good look at a mid range price. The offsets I listed above are about as aggressive as I'd get, anything w/ less positive offsets may cause issues unless you run a more stretched tire mount.

Hello,

I have a 2012 g37S Sedan and recently had to remove my Ace Mesh-7 wheels 20x8.5/10. Upon removing them the shop damaged the hub centric rings and they are unable to determine what size I need for when I put the wheels back on.

Wheels were purchased from original owner with the car and I am unsure of offsets.

Could anyone please guide me in the right direction so I could order the correct size needed? I am sending the wheels off to be refinished and will need the rings prior to.

Thank you blnewt for your insight. Those offsets scare me so much LOL Ive never had offsets that low on any of my vehicles. Most "aggressive" wheel specs I've had was 17x9 +45 on my S2000 and MIATA.

I wish I could get those "conservative" specs on the RSM9s. Looking for a really lightweight wheel for the vert. Since the vert is 4000+ lbs, just trying to shave weight where ever I can.

You might want to shoot a PM to Redfire, he's been going through wheel fitment himself and may be able to show you his couple setups as far as offsets & tires. The vert has more room in the fender than the coupes so you can run less positive offset.
