Just purchased my 2011 G37 xs coupe. Need advice.

I just purchased my very first "real" car yesterday. A 2011 g37xs 7AT coupe and I'm loving it. I bought it used and the first owner of the car had a (and I cringe when I say this) muffler delete performed on it. since I had never heard a G up close I didn't think twice about the sound. The guy I bought it from (second owner) had no idea of the delete either as he was new to infiniti as well. He barely drove the car and the inspection showed that. We both weren't aware of the delete until we saw it up on the hoist when it was having the inspection done. Anyway, I'd like to try and return this to somewhat of a stock sound. What would be my cheapest option to obtain this? Thanks in advance for any help on this topic and I look forward to being a part of the G community!

Just get a basic axleback, something like a TopSpeed Pro1 or Beluga will fit the bill and they look pretty good back there, and cost about $200-250 IIRC. Will be a bit deeper tone than stock but in a good way.

Thanks for your reply blnewt. I will definitely take a look at those two options. Much appreciated.

Possibly take to a custom exhaust shop and have them cut and weld mufflers for you.

That could also be another option I suppose. Thanks RMB. I would actually prefer to keep the OEM exhaust tips if possible so I may just go that route. any suggestions for aftermarket mufflers that would give that stock (or a little deeper) exhaust note? Thanks.

I'd research the top custom shops in your area and then call and see if they can give you a quote. The shop near me, MBS, is supposed to be one of the best custom shops going. I'm going to see what they can offer then go from there. If the price isn't right, I'll have them put together a custom system that mates to a Tanabe Medallion axle back or Beluga like B mentioned above.

yes I'll be sure to call around and get some quotes. Thanks for your input. I'm assuming MBS is located in the states?

Yes, not sure where you're located. Might help with a shop recommendation.

I figured that. I'm located in Canada so unfortunately cant visit MBS. I'll have to shop around. It should be a fairly easy install though. I would think any reputable muffler shop could throw on an axleback for me.

Tanabe holds a very similar to stock sound. 50% of the people who get the Tanabe exhaust barely noticed any change, but the minimal change they noticed was a good one. Almost all Tanabe owners rave about the quality of the product though.

I have Tanabes on my sedan and can confirm it was not noticeable different from the stock sound, so I replaced the stock resonator as well to a single shortened version.

The cost of this was 1.5 hours or 135 dollars for me.

Thanks for your input zonnie. I will look into tenabe as well. My ultimate goal would be to keep the stock exhaust tips and just have an aftermarket muffler that gives just a slightly deeper tone. Is that something that can be achieved? Thanks in advance.

Not sure where you're located in the great white north, but

Canada Custom Mufflers & Brakes
Zoro Muffler
Hindle Exhaust Systems

Wow, just realized Vibrant performance is located in Canada.

Vibrant Performance .

Link to their muffler selections. I believe the Sedan is 2 1/4 piping so I'd go with the 2.25 Inlet/outlet. Just select the style you want but Vibrant quality is awesome IMO
