You will have zero drone with those vibrants. I had the same set up for 3 yrs.

Vid is before wheels were fitted properly lol.
Sounds really good, Hexotic! Much better than my car... Love the extra intake sound from the K&N which you don't get with a Super Charger.

I finally got new rubber weather stripping for those shields. I had to cut those up so much lol... Also made some custom mounting brackets and changed the way they are attached to the frame. Thanks again man, Im so happy with these intakes haha.

Got my Tanabe Medallion installed just now. Came with a small dent in the inside left front end of the muffler. Its not too noticeable but the shop I bought it through offered to install for free and knocked off $50 of the total also. Originally I was going to have my buddy install and he is also giving me his 19" Rays to ride on for a bit, but I was anxious to get it on and let them do it.

First notice: It looks great. Not too in your face but high quality looking. The tone has deepened so slightly its almost unnoticeable. I expect it to get louder after a few weeks. Next Friday ill be driving out of town about 150 miles, so it will get some breaking in.

Edit: Added pictures. Will do a video soon.

The rasp was getting to me, so I ordered and had the 12" Vibrant resonators put in. WOW, what a perfect addition to the exhaust. The tone is a little deeper now, and absolutely no rasp.

2 and 1/4" piping from cats back, Vibrants, Tanabe mufflers. Is a really nice combo...

^ did you have any drone before putting in the vibrants?
Whenever i get a free weekend im planning on chopping out my resonators and welding in some replacement pipes.... but i'm still undecided on if i want to also add the vibrants. Did the vibrants make the it any quieter?

No drone at all, just rasp from 3,000 to 4,000 RPM.

It doesn't seem any quieter to me, just a tad deeper in tone, which I like.

Did they weld on flanges?

Forgot to post this a while ago. I don't have a clip of me gunning it down the street yet. This is just a cold start clip.

These are pretty good videos of what it sounds like though. it's fun to play with. I need to get paddles now, it would be so much better than tiptronic.

My new exhaust with just vibrants sounds almost like the GT Haus.. just too bad I don't have the valves for the cold starts

I love the raw, random pops in the GThaus exhaust, but overall it's too tinny and high pitched for me. Beautiful construction, though, and a rightgeous bragging point.

Haha yes. keeping it in first gear while idling through an area where you don't need to go fast and hitting 3k-3.5k and then letting go makes a nice crackle and pop. Downshifting before a corner is a lot of fun as well.

Ya, at high RPM's it can get a bit more high pitched, I still have the cats. However, the exhaust doesn't have a resonator, which I'm sure contributes to it sounding a bit tinny. I don't mind though.

Those aren't valves :-P. they are welded in fins that kind of look like valves though. Apparently its a signature GT Haus thing. G37s only have their GTS exhaust, some of the more popular cars like the m3 have GTC exhausts, which do have valves though I believe.

Noob Sedan Exhaust Questions...

Hi, Guys,

I'm new to forums, not just this forum. My apologies if this post belongs elsewhere.

I have 2 G37's. I have had a sweet 2010 G37 base model for about 5 years, and I've modded her quite a bit. She is being handed down to my soon-to-be-licensed son. I want most of the mods transferred to my new G, a 2013 G37xS. It's all pretty easy except the exhaust.

On the '10, I have Berk HFC and Invidia Q309 CBE. Will this fit the '13 xS?

AND

Will the stock '12 xS exhaust fit the '10 base? I'd like to do a direct swap...

Then, if that works, to lessen the blow to my son of castrating the exhaust, I'm thinking an inexpensive axleback for my son's '10 G. He's very excited about the gift, but he doesn't deserve stock exhaust (partly because I pointed at it, in its modded state, and said, she'll be yours. I implied by my silence on as is or not, it was to be gifted as is)

TMI?

Bottom Line:
Will the stock '13 xS exhaust fit the '10 base? and...
Will Berk HFC's and Invidia Q300 CBE fit my '13 xS?

The xS exhaust will be a direct swap to the 2010 G37.

The Berks HFC will be a direct swap to the '13 xS, but you'll have to get the Invidia exhaust modified to clear the front transfer case. Should only be around $150 at an exhaust shop.

Do you have any videos of the Berks + Invidia setup?
