Who primes their fuel pump before starting the engine?
Hi guys,
This is my first car with a push start button and since the very first time i started the G a couple years ago i just pressed it once to start it. In all of my previous cars civic si, integra type r, wrx and Sti i would prime the fuel pump before starting.
Ignition on, listen for the fuel pump, and then start it.
It just seemed so convenient to press it just one time for starting. Also loved how i didn't need to use the key anymore especially for those times when you're in hurry.
I recently started priming FP again. I'm not sure if it's necessary or if it helps but it seems to be a good idea to continue doing it.
So anyways who prime's the fuel pump before starting and who doesn't?

What do you mean by prime?
I drove a 1960 something Cadillac once, when I was like 16. I think it was a 400 cid V8 with a 4 barrel. You had to prime the carb by pumping the gas pedal before turning the key
You don't have to do that with a G37. Or any car since like 1982.
