G is my only car so I picked DD, but I use mass transit to commute to work, so really it's not used daily but rather once or twice on the weekends.

It's nice to keep the miles low, but just moved to a new place w/o a garage, so don't see an much of an effect as far as "preserving" it.

My plan is to keep the G as a weekend car eventually, and get a nicer commuter car (i.e. Lexus GS) when I move further out from the city (many years away).

I know the G is not a typical "garage queen" type sports car, but RWD + 6-sp + over 300HP qualifies as a fun weekend car to me. Who knows, maybe my opinion will change (trying not to drive any of my friends real sports cars)

DD every day and twice on Sundays. I could not love a human child as much as I love my 2011 G37xS.

I love my xS and I'm sure it's great in the snow...but I live where snow is something you go to visit would hate to deal with salted roads and ice being thrown up everywhere all winter. Hats off to you guys and may the season be kind to your Gs.

Am I to take this to mean you don't have children? Because...if you do...lol. I have to say I love my daughter a bit more than my car. But the car is amazing haha.

Are you kidding I had snow bank go through my lower grill and push my engine splash shield to the ground. Broke the oil door off, 5 clips and now is scrapping all the time over bumps, I guess was a great excuse to let the wife spend $$ on the tollbothwilly shield , Will be here Monday

Or maybe because they have a need to have a more rugged, higher ground clearance vehicle for daily use in less then optimal driving conditions like construction sites and muddy roads? Or possibly because their job provides a company vehicle? Commute long distances and have something that gets 45 MPG on the highway instead of 22? Management/executive/sales position that has them driving several people around town or to lunch and they won't fit in the back of the coupe? Own several cars and can choose to drive whichever one they like on any given day? Car is slammed and roads aren't very hospitable to a lowered suspension? Garage Queen? Own another car they like driving better?

Mine is intended to be a DD but for a couple of the reasons cited above, it seldom is anymore.

I used to DD the G but I'm not sure if I will be able to (when I get it back) because it might not make it into my new parking garage here at work.

I was under the same assumption for some reason so also posted a thread about mine being a DD thinking I was in the minority

I think the phrase "heavily mod" only applies to Tony.

The rest of us... "gently mod with bolt-ons" is a more accurate statement.

Mine is my DD, and my fun car, and my track car ...

I think the G is designed to be a daily driver, not a weekend car. Its (relatively) comfortable, got all the (basic) luxury items, quite reliable and also (somewhat) practical.

For a weekend car, I would want it to be more impractical, more raw as in the driving experience, and more expensive to maintain ... LOL

Actually, I would rather drive the G every day, and pick up a $5k Miata as my "toy".
