How is that possible. 36?

I imagine you do get a number of compliments. Convertibles always invoke a unique reaction in bystanders. (Remember the K-Car?)

But before you misinterpret that as validation, consider this overlap in demographics: each day millions of people eat at McDonald's. In that analogy, the Mustang Convertible is just as tasteful as a Quarter Pounder with Cheese. If you want, you can call it a Royale with Cheese, but it's still cheap, tasteless crap.

^whoa you got some Mustang hostility. Did a Mustang pillage Rochester NY or something? Just kidding, but seriously you hate yourself some mustang.

Granted a v6 convertible will never be in my future, but GT or higher and I like it. A GT mustang is just about the best bang for your buck out there. Equipped with the track pack and it's a very capable performer that sounds nice and looks more than decent.

No, not quite. You're reading too much into that. In fact, I've driven a couple of the new Mustang GT 5.0's before buying the G37S. Both were 6MT... one had the lower ratio rear end, and the other had the tall rear end. I forget the exact numbers at the moment, but the point was to test out both and see if the taller gears mattered.

And they do. The car was monstrous. Truly, brutally fast. There's a lot to respect out of the performance of the GT 5.0 6MT.

But none of that matters to the OP. He's lamenting the mileage of his G to an automatic, V6 Convertible Mustang, all the while puffed up with compliments for his domestic drop-top. In other words, he's operating on a completely different set of priorities than you or I. Like a peacock and a road-runner, they're just two completely different birds.

Which is fine for him. If he wants to create a pointless thread just to trash the G, then I think it's only right and proper to defend it. This is a G forum, after all.

^Fair enough and worded well. I love American muscle, but it's just not practical for daily use. Otherwise I'd have a an SRT challenger (yes I know that is the worst performer, but it's sexy), but I am lucky enough to have a 69 Chevelle SS as a weekend cruiser.

Don't get me wrong I love my G, but brute force is smile inducing.

Honestly speaking, BEFORE you considered buying a G, you should be done research on the MPG,. and prepared for the premium gas price, just drive the fun heck out of it.

why complaining on a premium sedan?
