Paint is a very very common problem. Not just on our cars, but on all cars. It's because you can't get the old acrylic paint anymore. Now it's a water based low VOC paint. You can thank the EPA for that one. BMW complains about paint, Acura complains about paint, Chevy complains about paint, it's all crappier than it used to be.

Actually white cars have black primer, and black cars have white primer. I think it's always been like that for every car, right?

The front end is where we tend to have the most chipping problems. My 07 front bumper was, eventually, badly pitted but you couldn't tell from ten feet away because it was black (primer or plastic?) under the paint. A good reason to buy OB .
The hood, being made from aluminum, had a few tiny, shiny spots where the paint chipped off, likely from very small rocks skidding over it.
As Itchytoe here wrote, today's paints are weak for ALL cars. My pro detailer and clearbra installer also say the same thing. It's not just our cars.
My wife's 2011 Honda is white and I found a dozen paint chips on the front end within 2 months of the purchase in late Spring.
