Pickings were slim for new cars when I was in the market - I wanted to avoid high maintenance costs / reliability issues etc, so I was leaning toward Japanese brands. Other conditions were coupe with 6MT - preferably RWD or AWD. So this took me pretty quickly to Z/G.
I'm surprised nobody's tossed in the BMW 1 series. I didn't cross shop them, but my friend has a 135is that is pretty fun to drive as well. Weight/performance is pretty similar, two doors, four seats. I'll admit the original 1 series is a little oddly proportioned, but the 1-series M actually appreciated in value! Would've been nice if my G had done that - haha. The current m235 coupes are a huge aesthetic improvement over the 1 series, so that kinda eliminates the oddball grievance for me.
That said, like most people here on this forum, I'm quite happy with my G.

Well Ive always liked the Gs but it was never on the top of my list when I started buying cars. Now that Ive owned a few cars I decided I would get try out the G37s coupe because my audi was not the most reliable car. I still have it and will probably never let it go. Im so glad I bought this G37s coupe now more than ever. The only other car I was interested in was a BMW 335. I decided not to go that route because my brother had just bought a 335 so I did something different. I will say one thing though…. That car is damn fast with just a tune. I love my G though
