Removing paint

Removing paint
The previous owner of my car spray painted the calipers red but now they are chipping. Looks like it was a few coats, but they probably weren't properly prepped as some pretty big chips are coming off. Is there a process I can use for removing just the red but leaving the silver underneath?
Thanks!

Hm, it'll be very, very difficult to strip back JUST the red paint. I would try starting with a light solvent to clean the grime off the surface paint. Then follow it up with a rag soaked in goof-off. Try to start at the top and rub and reapply as necessary until you see the grey. The silver paint is clearcoated, so there should be some wiggle room.
I think you're better off repainting them silver, or stripping the whole thing back and repainting it.

I might give it a shot with the light solvent and see if I can stop at the clear coat above the silver. If that doesn't work I think I'll just strip the whole thing and repaint them. I figured I could save some time plus the Infiniti decals that I'm sure are under there by stripping off just the red. Thanks guys!
