Well had a blow out yesterday....rear passenger tire is completely shredded. Steel wires poking out of the Michelin PSS...I have to say...I've only had them on for about 10 months now and somewhere around 7k miles....I am running -2 camber but toe has always been in spec. I am extremely disappointed to say the least and will NEVER buy Michelin's again! I looked at my rear drivers side and same thing...steel wires poking through!

And running higher negative camber would make any claims null & void.
Glad no other damage or incidents occurred.

yes me and you both.....but I still think something went wrong at some point besides just running negative camber.

I picked up a set of 275/30 Dunlop sp sport maxx gt's.....im not happy at all going with the 275 as its more stretched then I prefer, but fig I could run less neg camber and see how that goes. So only time will tell.

Well that wear is evenly slanted all the way to the end, doesn't seem abnormal for running higher camber but the amount of miles it took to get that wear seems accelerated for sure.
Hopefully w/ a little less camber you'll have better results.

Ok found my print out from back in Oct as well as the one from last weekend, cant for the life of me find the one from a few months back. With that said, I was wrong, my rear camber was -3 and I am running -2 upfront. So I can see the wear on the tire as such, but again not it completely blowing out in 5k miles.

That sounds pretty typical of tires running camber -3 or more, you've got the whole load of the powered rear of your car centered on about a third of your tires' contact patch. Once the tread gets down to a certain point below the wear bars it really wears fast. Just be glad you kept your car under control and nothing else happened.

High-performance tires against hot Florida blacktop, on a RWD sport sedan with over 330 HP, while out of spec over 3* negative camber?

There's your answer, Daddy. 5K miles seems just about right.

Hey OP... I had my car re-aligned yesterday, and in order to bring toe into spec, one of the rear wheels ended up with a -2.7* camber. It's quite visibly tilted into the car, more so than the -1.5* camber on the other side... which is actually about +.3 to +.5 too vertical for my preference. So now I have a pair of SPC rear camber arms in shipment, have to pay for installation of these parts, and do this alignment thing all over again. Grrrrr.

I suppose the difference in your situation and what happened to me yesterday, was that when I saw the spec sheet, I nearly had a cow. The Technician, Service Manager and I must have talked for 20 minutes. And then when I eyeballed the wheel at -2.7* camber, it was like a flashing billboard of wrongness. All I was seeing in my head was your destroyed tire, LOL.

My point being, stuff happens. It's easy to say, "Don't beat yourself up too much." But then here I am at the early stages of a similar situation, and I'm beating myself up.

well its been roughly 6 months or so since an update....which isn't much....was debating on trading in the car or selling out right to purchase either a 2013+ M5 or a S4 but decided against it for numerous reasons at the moment. I have been thirsting for a 6mt sports sedan forever now....all that said....I just detailed her this afternoon and the thing is everytime I do so...I end up falling back in love with my car again so I'll take that as a sign for now. On the agenda for 2016 is first and foremost a tune....since adding the FI RHFC I know I'm either running too lean or too rich.

I also plan on painting the headlights and possibly adding demon eyes and maybe a version of ironman or something to spruce it up, still uncertain ATM.

Still more to come so stay tuned....
