i meant it generally. its almost always refereed to as a strut on here and g35 forums. and no its shouldnt be used interchangeably. the funny thing is i dont see almost anyone referring the rear shock as a strut lol why not huh?!

Because the rear shock isn't a coilover by design compared to the front I suppose.
so ur saying that those who installed aftermarket true coilovers in the rear could call it a strut then? see wat im saying. so a shock is a shock and a strut is a strut. we dont have a strut system so how bout we all stop calling it a strut lol
Well typical struts also have some alignment functions but ALWAYS have springs integrated into the unit. Shocks NEVER have integrated springs, so that's probably the main reason for calling the front sets struts, although they are more of a "loaded shock" lol.
Some good news. I found a shop who bid to install coilovers, rear camber kit, and alignment for closer to $600. Okay, time for me now to spend more money - I'll post a review on these Stance's once the parts are installed...It must have been all the good vibes here - thX all for the assist!
