How to install sub+amp with factory head unit?

How do I install a sub+amp and keep the factory head unit on my '13 G37 Journey sedan with Bose audio system? I have a 12" Alpine Type-R sub and a Kenwood KAC-5001PS amp. I've read online and there are so many different methods (different harnesses, with/without LOC, etc.) Which harness should I use? Do I need a LOC?

I just installed an amp/subwoofer on my '13xS coupe. While many of the install items will be the same for your sedan, you may need to tap the wiring a bit differently. There should be a thread posted with sedan wiring instructions, but here is a link to my Build Thread where I detailed the work I performed.

Note that if you choose to go with tapping the low level signals as inputs to your amp, you do NOT want to use a LOC.
