Michelin Pilot AS/3 vs MXV4, plus a TPMS question

My sedan has the base wheels 225/55r17, I'm finally replacing the stock tires (about damn time). A second set of snow tires isn't an option for me at this time, so I need a good all-season tire.

I had the Michelin MXV4 on my last Infiniti and it is also currently installed on my wife's car, and I've been very happy with it. What I'm looking for is feedback from any Pilot AS/3 owners who have used both tires and can share their experiences. The reviews I've read online (2 or 3) were very positive on the AS/3 - my only concern is how well it will wear.

Regarding TPMS - I've gone and gotten a couple quotes - one quote included a TPMS rebuild kit and re-learn which sounds like a complete waste of money to me - is that necessary/advisable?

Thanks

Waste of money IMHO. A TPMS rebuilt kit is typically only the valve core & seals, as far as I know. No re-learn involved as long as you keep the same TPMS units on the same car. I have declined the rebuild kit myself on multiple cars (Discount Tire) and have had no issues on any of my family's cars with TPMS (Infiniti, Toyota, Acura and Honda).

I have the Pilots, but only have about 2K on them so can't say on the wear yet.

Up, I am also interested in hearing people's experiences on this.

I'd be curious as well. I have a TPMS set off a different car so I imagine I'll need to get them set to my car when I install the new rims.
But, what do I know....

TPMS rebuild? Yeah, sounds like the rubber components get changed out. There is nothing other than that. I think there is a DIY method to syncing.
