Let's talk ALL SEASON tires on the stock 19" sport wheels - Only 1 choice?
Let's talk ALL SEASON tires on the stock 19" sport wheels - Only 1 choice?
I have been looking for an all season tire to replace my almost worn out summer OE tires (18,000 miles and counting).
I really wanna try the Goodyear Eagle F1 AS, but according to tire rack the ONLY ALL SEASON tire that will fit is the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.
And this too with a PLUS ZERO tire size: 245/40 Front and 275/35 Rear
I kno that's a good tire as well, but just wondering if anyone did anything different. I also wonder if i wait more, will new tires and sizes be coming out in time for the summer driving season!
Any thoughts?

Here's some experience from a G35 owner - don't waste your time with all season rubber, unless you're just trying to find something longer wearing. If that's the case, you shouldn't be going for the Goodyear F1s anyway. I would suggest getting two sets of tires if you drive in ANY snow. All season tires on our cars just don't work.
And when the G35 came out, tire choices were limited. It took a year or two to get more options when people started replacing their worn out stockers. But personally, I'd go for an aftermarket rim/tire combo and sell your stock rims/tires now before the tread is unservicable. You'll find TONS of tires in that size and you'll get a pretty good amount of money for your stock rims, since they're new.

^ Not sure what you are talking about Balzac72 ... sell the 19" OEM rims + tires ... then what? What 'aftermarket' sizes are available for the sport model? 18"? 20"?
I suppose if you wanted to go use 18" rims (tirerack has a list of rims that will clear the BBK) and all-seasons, I suppose that would be OK. But most do not want the added headache of 20" rims and the high cost of replacement tires (are there such thing as 'all-season' 20s for a car?)

What doesn't work is summer tires in the winter time. Or winter tires in the summer time.

The simple fact is that there is no all-season tire to fit the G37 (unless the driver wants the 245/40R19 Pilot Sport A/S front and rear....
Not everyone plans on taking their G37 to the track...

You know what... it is TRUE that 20" tires are cheaper than 19" dang, i completely forgot about that, but it def is true.
Dang, my stock rims/tires have almost 20 K miles on em, and the outer sidewalls have a bit more wear on em than the inner sidewalls.... never rotated em side to side, so too late to sell, i would say.
Just gonna burn em out at tracks and parking lots and put the Pilot Sport A/S on for now. Just bought a new home, so $$ kinda tight for now, cant afford the extra set of rims unless i can sell the stockies for a decent amount.
But then i'd still want A/S tires till the time i could afford to have a dedicated winter and summer setup.
Front: 245/40/19
Rear: 275/35/19
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S... here i come >_<
I would like a longer wear tire, and i heard good things about the pilot sport a/s from G35 owners. At least better than stock some have said. When temps dip below 50, and it rains, i have hyundais passing me on off ramps
But anyway, even the eagle F1s wont fit yet, they have a pretty good wear rating? The UTQG on em is: 420 AA A
Pilot Sport A/S UTQG is: 400 AA A
maybe u were thinking of the summer tires? or personal experience? I kno sometimes those rating dont tell the whole story tho.
