Why can't I/others view attachments...

...for example, I couldn't view attached photos for a private sale of a G37 offered in CT

Hmmm... First I've heard of this. Sounds like a aproblem with your browser. What browser are you using and is there a particular thread you are having problems with or all threads with attachments?

EDIT: Problem noted. Seem as if others may be experiences the same. We'll look into it. Until then, I've hosted the pics and embedded them into a post so that you and the others can see them.

Please read the announcements in the forum you are questioning. If you would of read the announcemts you would of seen why you can not open the attachments nor post. Announcemts and stickies are put up for a reason.

An April 25th join date is what is restricting you in the Classifed forum.

Seems like a misguided rule losing potential sales...

...even for members that have been around...but it's your rule...and where does it advise me to be wary of snippy staff...? LOL...just saying, I can see the post(s) and reply with purchase intentions but maybe wouldn't want to if I can't see the merchandise...just doesn't compute...

We are aware that some members are not able to view attachments for various reasons. In your case, you now know why.

The staff has spent a lot of time editing and tweaking stickies and annoucements for everyone's benefit. The rules of the marketplace have been established to help ensure fraud is reduced to a minimum. We gain nothing from these sales. If you cannot view a photo of something you wish to purchase, have the OP PM you the links, that should work.

The snippy staff member(s) see your type of thread and posts way too many times then we should be allowed to endure. It puts too many staff members in motion to see what is going and to resolve your issue. FYI we do like to cruise the forums too. If everyone in the 37 community would read announcements and stickies we wouldn't have to reply and could become less snippy.

The 'rules' were set up the day the site went up. They are the rules if you like it or don't like it. (getting snippy again). It helps YOU as a potential buyer although we have absolutely nothing to do with ne one selling stuff on the forums. You choose to accept the rules when you click onto the site. It's our sandbox incase you didn't notice.

Sorry to disagree but it does compute. A pm to the buyer might have served you better then to start a rant thread.

This isn't our first rodeo bro. We've been there and done that for quite sometime.

*out of snippy mode ...... back to normal. :JAMIN:

You have no idea what a rant is...

if you think this was one, IMO...your sandbox, huh...?...and here I thought this kind of site was dedicated to members...amazing what a little power does to people...I thought this was the proper place for feedback...but now I see that you (specifically) don't want any feedback...ever...since the rules were set upon opening (God forbid you might consider possible improvements)...anyway, enjoy your rodeo...(this a little closer to a rant, I guess). My thanks to those who have tried to be helpful w/o reading me the riot act...

Genome... Many people underestimate what it takes to keep a forum like this going. I can honestly say I did as well until I recently joined the myG37 staff and really saw what these guys have done and are doing here. I don't think anyone of the staff members has a power trip or considers this their "sandbox". If they did, I'm sure one of the Admins (and there are many) would put a stop to it. They do what they do for the good of the myG37 forum. We want your feedback and suggestions, however, we'd greatly appreciate it if they were delivered in a constructive fashion and not through a backlash at the staff or the way the rules were put together.

If you look back at the thread, I personally took the time to pull the pics, upload them to a site, and post them back into the thread so that others can see attachments. I did not have to do that, but figured I'll try and help a bro out... you.

All we ask is that you be appreciative and courteous in your feedback... If it weren't for what the staff does, this place wouldn't exist.

Enjoy the forums and let's all, members and staff, help make this a better place. :thewave:

And my thanks at the end was directed to you...

...and I was just quoting Yoko ONO in regard to the sandbox - he/she said it was "...our sandbox..." and I was certainly not part of that "our"...but again - thank you for trying to be helpful w/o busting my chops...I'll know better next time...I, like most people, have enough $hit to deal with already - certainly don't need more:bowrofl:

link the thread of which you can't see the attachment, then we will know who can see and who can't

Genome Jun 10, 2008 05:49 PM

Careful, boys, you might get an earful...

...anyway, I should now be able to view attachments ( according to the rules ) but still cannot - somebody must have $hit in the sandbox...:52:

nogoodname Jun 10, 2008 05:51 PM
