FS Custom Battery Negative Ground with Sensor
Custom Battery Negative Ground with Sensor
For sale is this custom negative battery cable made for infinity's.
The OEM wire is metric and measures about 7 AWG, this wire is a bit special because it carries a battery current sensor that the wire goes through. This sensor is critical for the alternator to have proper charging control.
There's no way to remove the sensor without sacrificing the wire so if your negative battery terminal is failing you have limited options.
The ground terminal to the chassis is a special one because that corner is so tight it uses a twin hole type terminal with a decent bend to it. Because there are only 10mm holes in that area your options are limited in a single hole terminal might not provide enough grounding.
I've made a few of these before for folks who have wanted a plug and play solution and have had great success.
Example: I have upgraded the ground on two cars that have cause cranking speeds to decrease and provide less strain to the battery upon start-ups.
In conclusion: The VQ37 has some huge grounds made by Yazaki from the timing cover to chassis already- it doesnt need any more.
The weak point in a lot of the grounding issues comes in the form of the battery negative wire, brand new and with stock electronics it does well however as it ages it becomes a huge weakness to the charging system.
The wire used I use is a 2awg marine plated wire as well as plated terminals to help with harsh environments and or leaky acid batteries.
Current sensor included
$70
If you ever want to add additional grounds my suggestion is to fasten them to the chassis by the negative terminal that goes to the chassis. This will make sure that whatever grounding the sensor can read it.
