Year: 2012 Make: INFINITI Model: G37 Sedan Price: $22900 Mileage: 48000 Color: Graphite Shadow (KAD) Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing Location (State/Prov): AR
I'll start by saying I'm reluctant to put this up for sale because it's such a beauty and you would be hard-pressed to find another 6MT sedan in this condition and with this amount of mileage. I have been pondering this move for a long time now and I think I'm just growing a bit tired of going back and forth on it, so I'm just going for it. I have reached the end of modding on the car because my next round of mods would involve thousands of dollars and I don't quite think I want to do it, and instead I'll probably move on to a different project.
I bought it from a forum member, Jsolo, on July 22nd, 2019 with 36,893 miles at the time and he was the only owner of the vehicle. He ordered it brand new from Infiniti in December of 2011. He gave me an extensive list of maintenance he performed during his ownership. Right now it has around 48,xxx miles and absolutely zero issues, only a few cosmetic rock chips here and there. No accidents. The back seat has been sat in only a handful of times, ever. Always garaged it's whole life and rarely driven in rain, never in snow (and only rarely when Jsolo owned it, I believe). Very meticulously maintained vehicle by both owners.
I am not in a rush to sell and will only entertain serious buyers. I also don't want to see the car go to someone who is going to abuse it, because there aren't many more of these around that are still in good shape. I don't want to make this too lengthy (and I'm a bit short on time) so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I apologize as I don't have an interior pic at this moment, but plan to give it a vacuuming and cleaning this weekend to get some pics. It has black leather interior.
I have only done mods that are tasteful and mature (in my opinion, everyone has their own). The total I've spent on mods has been around $10k.
The mod list:
Exterior:
25% tint
Black vinyl on window chrome
OEM trunk spoiler (taped up, ready to wrap in gloss black when I can find time to complete it)
Interior:
RJM Clutch Pedal
Wheels / Suspension:
18x8.5 and 18x9.5 Superspeed RF03RR with Pilot Sport A/S3+ tires (wheels weigh 18 pounds each)
370Z Nismo red springs
Eibach front and rear sways
Z1 2 piece rotors front and rear
Centric Posi Quiet pads
Engine:
2.75" cold air intake with custom velocity stacks by Rabbit Hole Motorsports
Ported throttle bodies
Ported upper intake manifold
Ported lower intake manifold
GTR 550cc injectors
AAM Resonated high flow cats (300 cell)
Fast Intentions 2.5" cat-back with 18" resonators
8lb Antigravity ATX-30 battery
Ecutek tuned by Eugene at Enthusiast Auto Care
Z1 differential brace
Thanks for looking! Here are a couple videos of the exhaust and acceleration:
I guess I'm just tired of going back and forth on it. The car is great, it has no problems and its fun to drive, but its just time to move on to something different. Also the fact that my next round of mods, as I said above, would be thousands of dollars, and I'd rather put that money into a new project.
Got some more pics, lots more coming later.

Car looks great. Have you advertised anyplace else? Interestingly, I went to Carvana or one of those vending machine car sales sites to see what my car was worth and it spit out 6.6K! I think its because I clicked "modifications". 80K also seems to start a new depreciation curve compared to 79K.
My car still smells new and there isn't much that hasn't been replaced or restored to new, so I would give the car to charity before I'd sell it for 6K, but this goes to your point about dropping thousands more in mods.
I guess at some point you need to let go, but its difficult.
Thanks for the compliments on the car. These vehicles are very difficult to value because their quality and treatment vary wildly. The value on these is generally way lower than it should be because most of them have been abused to crap. Then you take into account that it doesn't understand the rarity/value of a 6MT. Mods can be harmful for pricing in some ways, but thats where the right buyer can come along and find TONS of value in it if they were already planning on doing most of those mods.
On a serious note, one of the better examples of this platform that are still on the road. All of the modifications are well thought out and compliment each other nicely. Good luck with the sale!
Let me know in PM how this works out. So much similarity between our cars... mileage, history, care and mods. I used to think it would be an easy sell here, but the car is aging and the forum is shrinking. All my best to you, backman.

And you could advertise on the Reddit forums, but those guys will offer you a cartoon of smokes and a couple of movie tickets for the car. Our cars have reached a point where the value is somewhat of an unknown as my recent post about Carvana indicates ($6600). My 200K mile Ford Ranger with Rasta stickers on it is worth 5K, so 6K seems awfully low for my car. I guess the algorithms need to catch up.
You'll be hard pressed to find another 6MT Sedan in the 40k mile range. JSolo, you buying this back? Haha
Nice car man. These are such great cars, it's cool to see you didnt put much miles on it since you bought it
If it helps, I bought my 2009 6MT Sedan at 56k miles for $20K. it was entirely unmolested and stock... so those carry more value than modified cars.
Normally it's better to RTS (return to stock) and then sell off the other parts separately.
Good luck!
Rick
I tend to agree with this approach as purchasing a used car is all about finding something that is absolutely the lowest risk. That's why original owners, more mature folks with dealer maintenance records are coveted. Modifications of any type carry a very negative stigma. I recently went through a pricing exercise with Carvana out of curiosity and was amazing to see that suspension modification mods (no questions about whether they were professionally done) reduced the value of the sale over 30%.
With that said, it would break my heart to return the car to stock. Difficult spot.
Sorry I haven't been able to reply, been busy with work.
@Rochester - I'll make sure to update you on how things work out. It's been an interesting journey especially since our cars are much alike. You are correct in that the forums are shrinking, which is because the car is aging but also partly because there's been a general shift over the years from forums to social media posting with this younger generation.
@socketz67 I did throw that post on Facebook G35/37 group but the responses there have been as expected. Not going to bother posting on any Reddit, eventually I may put it up on Autotrader or Cargurus if I get more serious about selling it, but I'm not going that far yet. I can't believe yours is valued at 6k on Carvana, that is laughable and also kind of sad. That's part of the reason it's maybe best to hold onto these cars because you'll never get their true value's worth out of them.
@SwiftKit Not sure if I've seen any other 6MTs still in the 40k miles range, almost makes me want to stop driving it haha, but I won't because it's kind of silly. Before I made any posts about the vehicle, I did contact JSolo and offered him first dibs to buy it back if he wanted, but he declined.
@Rik R. There is definitely value in finding a stock, unmolested car like that. One of the reasons I try to select tasteful mods is so that it doesn't detract too much from the car's stock form, but more subtle upgrades. If you wait long enough, you can find the right buyer who finds value and aligns with the mods you have done and is willing to pay a more premium price because it'll actually save them money in the long run as far as modding goes. Definitely not an option to return to stock or part anything out because I absolutely still enjoy the car how its set up now and there's a decent chance I'll end up keeping the car longer.
@projectpanda13 Thanks for the kind words! You and I have some differences in taste but I absolutely respect you as a fellow enthusiast with how much efforts you've put into your own G. I like to think of how much value a person would be getting if they bought my G compared to any other car in the $23-24k price range. Good luck finding something that is as reliable and fun as an overall package!
