I have had the ssd hit 7.2 as far as Aero Ratings I have seen fluctuations with all my computers that I have tested.. Usually current driver will determine rating. Also Aero Score is determined by your lowest score.. What kind of HD are you running to have achieved 7.8??

4 intel solid states running in raid 0... a this year... addition... lol but they're only 80s tho... so they weren't that expensive.

what i'm actually going to be swap those out for another 256GB samsung cause apparently it has a better burst speed... I dunno haven't tested it yet...

I like how this is turning into a serious performance thread.

mw09g37, do you know what the rating is for a single and 2x raid0 configs?

I'm curious, as my laptop does have a 4x64 and 4x128 HDD option from the factory as well.

The SSD in my laptop easily runs circles around my home (desktop) setup which is raid5 4x raptors, which has a rating of 6.8, and my storage drive which is 3x raid5 1.5tb harddrives.

Sorry for thread-jacking kosstick... GLWS seriously...

never tried it actually cause I haven't run a non-raid system since like 2003... ha ha

it should drop it to like 7.2-7.4 theoretically.

I did run a 1TB WD Black 7200rpm single at one point and I think it was like a 6.7-6.8 from the primary hard drive.

Ironically, the 10k raptors aren't really that fast... I've seen Caviar Blacks run circles around them... they're more burst speed than they are sustained speed.

^^ I do agree. They have excellent seek and burst read/writes, but sustained sequential read/writes are faster on the large capacity harddrives.
