The status of the Zele kit: BALLER!

Haha, I kid, sorry. He has installed it on his new G for now so I would guess it is off the market. It looks gorgeous on his new color too:

Are you looking to purchase an authentic Zele kit?

crossed my mind...reading a lot of the threads on here about authentic parts.if one can spend X amount on top suspension upgrades why not the same on body parts...BUT as much as I want to say and potentially stay loyal to that mentality I find it difficult to not pass up on cheaper alternatives..

Believe it or not, as a consumer, I can understand that mentality. The rationale: It looks the same. Aero components are not a big safety issue as, say, knock-off wheels are, so what's the big deal if I buy a fake body kit? It is cheaper, etc...

Aside from the fact that there will likely be a few fitment issues regardless of the "perfect fitment" claims and that your body shop will charge you more in labor to make a lesser quality kit fit. (Bear in mind, I am in no way suggesting that authentic parts always fit 100% perfect. It is unrealistic to make that claim.)

Without getting into the details and igniting the replica/authentic debate - I know people on this forum don't like to hear it (especially from me), there is a certain moral and ethical constitution to supporting the true innovators of this industry. In short, replicas and knock-offs do real harm to the industry. Plain and simple.

I will just say that if you are considering buying authentic but are skeptical because of the price, save for a few weeks or months longer. I would be willing to bet that it will mean a lot more to you in the end. Just my $.02.
