Out of curiosity, how close can you get to the Infiniti "purple?" My start button currently has a ultraviolet LED- which I love, but is not perfect.

You got my gears running, again...

lol

I kinda miss the old red & bluish purple interior lighting that my mothers old Jetta had...

I do have a purple which is PRETTY close, but it is labeled as UV / Purple, so I wonder if it's the same as what you have already.
It does seem to match pretty close with the Infiniti purple

for the start button you would be able to do different colors for the 3 status lights and the button itself?

Little confused on pricing for the button. $45 is for mods only (we have to send ours in) or includes the button? You mention a core charge and you have 1 button but this was back in August so I don't know what's going on now.

Yeah core charge is $20. I should word that better. I have one here still.

I can do a different color for the status lights and center of the button yes, it's 4 LEDs.

So $65 modded and when we send back a button we get $20 back?

Does this vary for a GT-R button?

Yup, exactly. And same pricing for GT-R button.
Some buttons have a light at the bottom where it says ENGINE and some don't, but I don't know why or what years are like that. anyways, if yours has that... same price.

And the ones you send will have that I figure?

I checked and mine has the ENGINE light.

Well, i can't guarantee that because it's seemingly random. most of the ones I have seen don't have the ENGINE LED, maybe like 10% of them. The one i currently have is a brand new sealed button, and it does not have the ENGINE text at the bottom.

here are some pics on google I found showing the 2 different versions. I have the top one here.

I ordered a modded OEM button and planned to return my GT-R button but I realized that I have a local friend with an M37 and offered to him. He accepted it.

The purple on the button and "ON" indicator looks sort of blue in pictures but in person it looks closer to purple. It's not 100% identical to the OEM purple, but I did read a post iCrap made prior to telling him I want "OEM purple" so I knew what to expect. I'm satisfied with the item, but it's awkward to see the light in my peripheral sometimes while driving. That's obviously nothing negative against the item or seller and I'm sure I'll get used to that quickly.

I tried to wrap the chrome trim gloss black but I couldn't get the button all the way back into the trim so I took the wrap off. I figure it may be possible to shave away some of the trim to make it fit but I decided to leave it alone and just accept the chrome trim.

I think he's one of, if not the best independent product creator we have available. Always easy to deal with and supportive when asking follow-up questions after a purchase. I previously purchased the door sills mod from him.

I would only suggest that when someone tells you "OEM purple" to make sure to remind them that it isn't going to match 100%, that way you can avoid potential issues from buyers who didn't happen to see your post about that.

Anyways, here are the pictures off the button illuminated due to the door being open along with the red "LOCK" indicator, the ignition switched to "ACC" (amber), and the ignition switched to "ON" (purple):
