If you like a louder sound coming out of your vehicle than get ready

quakerroatmeal May 5, 2013 10:10 PM

Depending on where you live. If you're in Cali yeah you won't pass inspection. But in Texas as long as you don't throw a CEL you'll pass just fine.

I was replying about the guy that asked what brand HFC you got lol...it was in our post lol. I just watched a diy on the HFC swap..it looks like nuts,bolt,o2 sensors and fire it up. Good luck.

The nuts and bolts might sound a little more simpler than it really is. Get ready for a few busted knuckles as some of those nuts and bolts are in some ridiculous positioning. Have plenty of socket and wobble sockets handy. The o2 sensor rent the o2 sensor removal tool from your local auto parts store. Other than that its not too bad.

I ended having to get a new O2 sensor as they can get stuck pretty good in there. Hope it goes smooth for you.

I was having trouble with some of the bolts, so I said screw it and took it to my local shop to have it done for $50. After 20 minutes, he comes out and says it's a 3 1/2 hour job, as they have to drop the engine as they can't get to the front bolts from underneath. Huh? I said I'll give it another try, so stop. Am I missing something here. Any help would be appreciated as to how to get to the front nut/bolt. Thanks!
Bob

Take a look at the DIY on youtube. I think you have to get about 3 wrench extensions to get to the bolts from the top. Take off the engine cover and air intakes. Should be able to get to them without dropping the engine for sure. Below is the link.** If my posting of below link is not permitted please take off Moderator. Im not sure just trying to help.
