Installed my Motordyne ART's Today... Vid

Got around to installing my Motordyne ART test pipes this afternoon. My other exhaust mods are a Fujitsubo Y-Pipe and Megan Racing Rear Section. I also have a Stillen Gen 3 intake.

Let me know what you think. They sound pretty insane, but even better, made a very noticeable difference in throttle response, torque and overall power throughout the band.

(and yes, my foot did tap the pedal at the end after the high rpm revs. That wasn't a hiccup.)

Dude, that's a great-sounding setup. I think it's fantastic. Love those ART pipes--as it is also my first time seeing them around. This is making me want a pair of those, according to what Motordyne says about it being quiet and droneless.

But since you already have them, how is the drone? Does your interior feel much of it?

And there seems to be a lot of the dreaded deceleration hiss with these.

That the same Fujitsubo Y-pipe used for the g35 coupe?

Was expecting a DIY to be honest, sounds great though! :)

Can we get some drive by's please?

Even the camera got a little scared.

Betty, you're thinking of my wife. She'd never be able to crack the demon bolts.

There is a very minimal amount of hiss during deceleration. It is really only noticeable when you are driving close to a high median or wall that bounces the sound back to your window. Like I said, it's minimal and totally worth it for the power and response gains. I've read about hissing issues on all sorts of setups though, even with Berk's, so I imagine it's more of a VQ thing than an issue directly related to the ART's.

I'd like to hear it under load...hard to tell the true sound by just rev'n. Sounds good so far though...

Chi-City-G Aug 7, 2011 12:20 PM

Were you getting the deceleration hiss before this current setup at all? Maybe the new pipes are not the issue and that would be great to know cause so far it does sound pretty sexy at high rev.

OK, that makes sense. I currently have the hiss big time with Berk HFC and Invidia Q300.

Thanks.

There was no deceleration hiss before the install of the ART's.

I will get some rolling shots up for you guys asap. The hiss seems to possibly be going away or at least getting quieter. I read that Tony from motordyne mentioned that the packing material inside the baffle requires a 1500 mile break in period so the coating can harden, then soften up. Maybe it's in the hardening phase?
